ZF Sachs Micro Mobility becomes wholly owned subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG

As of October 1, 2020, ZF Friedrichshafen AG has acquired all shares in the joint venture ZF Sachs Micro Mobility. ZF Sachs Micro Mobility GmbH is integrated into the Industrial Technology Division of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and thus strengthens ZF’s competencies in the growing segment of micro- and electromobility.

The former shareholders, BMZ Batterien-Montage-Zentrum GmbH and Gustav Magenwirth GmbH & Co. KG, continue to act as partners and suppliers.

“With the acquisition of all shares, we aim to consolidate and expand our footprint and expertise in the growing micro-mobility market. With the new structure, ZF Sachs Micro Mobility GmbH can act independently, being faster and more flexible in the market,” says Daniel Härter, Senior Vice President Industrial Technology at ZF.

Michael Funk, Managing Director of ZF Sachs Micro Mobility GmbH, adds: “This acquisition will enable us to increasingly access ZF’s expertise and know-how in the fields of mobility, engineering and the value chain. Through this pooling of competencies, we can meet our claim to offer our customers visionary solutions of the highest quality.”

The management of ZF Sachs Micro Mobility GmbH remains unchanged with Michael Funk and Marc Sommer, the company’s headquarters being Ravensburg.
